Pet Blessing Service
Sunday, October 25th at 10:30am
This Sunday, October 25th, we are having our annual Pet Blessing Service. Ordinarily, this service takes place on the first Sunday of October in honour of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron St. of Creatures and Creation. We were not able to hold it on October 4th this year, so this coming Sunday is the day.
Please bring your dogs, cats, and companion animals of all kinds to Bowen Island United Church at 10:30AM so I may bless them and thank them for their good service in the world.
All creatures are welcome, including large animals such as horses, goats, and donkeys. I am happy to meet those bigger creatures in the churchyard and give them a blessing and a treat.
Our service is at 1122 Miller Road. All are welcome. Always.
A Silent Contemplative walk
Thursday mornings at 10:30am
Each Thursday, we meet in the church parking lot, share a brief reading, and then walk in silence for an hour or so. The purpose is to, as poet Mary Oliver says, “Pay attention. Be astonished. Tell about it.”
